Describe what the load does after packing
Record pallet dimensions, mass, stack arrangement, rigidity and any expected settling. Include sharp edges, compressible contents and outdoor exposure where relevant. Photograph the goods, pallet and current band positions. An arrangement that looks tidy immediately after tensioning may behave differently after handling. State the transport route and required packaging tests so the responsible specialist can assess the complete application.
Specify force and dimensions independently
Write strap width and thickness in millimeters and identify smooth or embossed surface. For breaking force, keep the force unit and test method with the stated value. Distinguish a manufacturer's typical value from a guaranteed minimum if either is proposed. Do not translate a breaking-force number into an allowable pallet mass; a complete securement design needs more information than one material measurement.
Keep the tool and joint in the specification
Identify the battery tool, manual tensioner and sealer, or automatic machine. Confirm accepted dimensions and joining method from its documentation. When using a seal or buckle, identify the matching accessory rather than writing only 'metal seal'. Keep approved settings and joint inspection requirements in the trial record. A strap test and a finished joint test answer different questions.
Review edges and handling with the buyer
Mark where the strap contacts corners and where edge protection is used. Explain how the pallet is lifted, stacked and unloaded. If the packaging specialist changes the strap path, protection or number of bands, document that as a system change rather than an interchangeable consumable substitution. Strapping is not a lifting sling; use equipment and handling methods authorized for the operation.
Define acceptance before the trial
Agree the trial loads, responsible reviewer, application procedure and checks at appropriate stages. Retain sample references, photographs, observed joint issues and changes in the package during handling. Where performance consequences are significant, request an appropriate packaging or transport test. An informal sample wrap or banding demonstration does not establish a certified load capacity or replace the buyer's handling requirements.
Prepare a purchasing record that survives reorders
Send strap and tool references, coil dimensions, load photos, joint method, inspection needs, order quantity and destination. Keep the accepted sample and approved specification tied to the purchase order. Reorders should identify the same construction, coil and packaging basis; any change should be visible for review. SAFLO can quote against the agreed brief, while load approval remains tied to the actual application and evidence.
