Identify the complete machine
Record manufacturer, exact model and the relevant manual or specification page. A photograph of the nameplate is useful, but do not publish serial numbers unnecessarily. State whether the operation is semi-automatic or automatic and describe the package being strapped. Keep service questions with the machine supplier; changing a consumable is not a substitute for correcting a known equipment fault.
Use units for every coil dimension
Measure or obtain core inside diameter, core width, overall coil diameter and coil weight. Keep strap width and thickness as separate measurements in millimeters. Supplier catalogues list these independently because apparently similar coils can differ. Record usable length in meters if that is the purchasing basis. A description such as 'standard machine coil' is too ambiguous for a cross-border order.
Check the strap and sealing requirements
Identify the permitted material, width range, thickness range and surface requirements from the machine documentation. Record the joint process and approved setup instructions. Do not assume that a strap with the same width will have the same feed behavior or seal correctly at the existing settings. Share the current successful coil label and any measured deviation when investigating a substitution.
Describe faults in a useful sequence
If there is a problem, record whether it occurs while unwinding, feeding, tensioning, sealing or releasing the package. Note how often it occurs and whether it changed after a coil, carton or setting change. A short video can help the equipment supplier distinguish the step involved. Do not bypass guarding or adjust electrical, heat or tension settings outside the machine's authorized procedure to make a trial pass.
Run and retain an acceptance trial
Agree trial package types and an appropriate run with your operator or equipment specialist. Record coil reference, program, feed interruptions, joint observations and material usage. Keep sample identification and the result with the order brief. If a candidate only operates after an approved setting change, retain that change rather than claiming it is a drop-in replacement. Recheck relevant limits when the machine or package changes.
Send a quote-ready compatibility brief
Provide machine model, accepted dimension ranges, existing strap label, core and coil measurements, package details, required quantity and destination. Mark unavailable measurements as unknown and request a sample review. Ask the quotation to identify the approved strap construction, coil format and pack-out. A compatibility enquiry is not a machine warranty or a guarantee that every PP strap will run on your equipment.
